Thanksgiving Meals

Every Thanksgiving, King Lodge prepares a holiday meal for our Brothers and their families and donates Thanksgiving meals to the homeless shelter in Bristol.

Every Thanksgiving, King Lodge No. 461 sets two tables. We prepare a Thanksgiving meal for our Masonic Brothers and their wives and children, and we donate Thanksgiving meals to the homeless shelter here in Bristol, so that people who might otherwise go without have a warm holiday meal too.

A meal for our Masonic family

Our annual Thanksgiving dinner fills the Lodge dining hall with Brothers, their wives and children, and friends of the Lodge. The food is made by our own members and their families, from the turkey and stuffing to the desserts, and the evening is full of laughter and good company. Plenty of families linger long after the plates are cleared.

Meals for the homeless shelter

Thanksgiving is also a time to share what we have. Along with our own dinner, the Lodge prepares and donates Thanksgiving meals to the homeless shelter in town, so the holiday reaches neighbors who need it most.

Why we do it

Freemasonry teaches brotherly love, relief and truth. Thanksgiving puts all three on the table: caring for our own Masonic family, and reaching out to people in need in our community. As we like to say, gratitude is best expressed through action. Read about one of our Thanksgiving dinners.
