King Lodge Brothers honoring local veterans
VETERANSOngoing Program

Veteran Outreach Program

Throughout the year, King Lodge Brothers take up collections of supplies and deliver them to veterans in need.

Many of the men and women who served our country now need a little help themselves. King Lodge No. 461 has no set schedule for veteran outreach. Instead, throughout the year our members take up collections of supplies, and when we've gathered enough, Brothers load up their cars and deliver them to veterans in need.

How it works

  • Members and friends of the Lodge donate items and funds through the year.
  • When a need comes up, the Lodge can also draw on its benevolent fund, money set aside for exactly this kind of relief.
  • Brothers volunteer their time and vehicles to make the delivery in person.

A recent delivery: Mountain Home VA

In April, our Senior Warden proposed using part of the Lodge's benevolent fund to support veterans receiving care at the Mountain Home VA. With the help of fellow members, he organized the collection of several carloads of essential supplies, and on Friday, April 18, the Brothers delivered them to Building 600 at the VA.

Projects like this are what Masons call relief, one of the three great tenets of Freemasonry alongside brotherly love and truth. Read the full story.
