A Night of Fellowship: Entered Apprentice Degree

On December 12th, 2024, King Lodge No. 461 hosted a memorable Entered Apprentice (EA) degree, marking the first degree since the election of our new officers. The evening was a remarkable display of fellowship and dedication, as 17 Masons gathered, including 9 visitors from 5 different lodges. Among those present were three esteemed 50-year members: Brothers Dennis Cornwell, Jim Pepper, and Tracy Hammon, whose decades of service continue to inspire us all.

The degree was conferred by newly installed WM David Smith, setting the tone for the candidate’s Masonic journey. Special thanks are extended to Brother Vernon Dodson from Zollicoffer Lodge No. 444 for his contributions to the degree’s success and all the other visiting Brothers for helping us with the degree work.

The Entered Apprentice degree holds a special significance in Freemasonry. It represents the first step in a Mason’s journey—a journey of personal growth, moral development, and a commitment to building a better world. This degree introduces the candidate to the rich traditions and values of our fraternity, laying the foundation for the lessons and responsibilities that will follow in the Fellow Craft and Master Mason degrees.

The night was filled with fellowship and camaraderie, reminding us of the bonds that unite all Masons. It was a testament to the enduring principles of our fraternity and the shared mission of self-improvement and brotherly love.
