King Lodge No. 461 Hosts Entered Apprentice Degree

On Thursday, January 16th, King Lodge No. 461 welcomed brethren for an Entered Apprentice degree, continuing a tradition of fellowship and enlightenment that has been upheld for over 150 years.

The evening was attended by 16 Masons, including 6 visitors representing five lodges: Johnson Lodge No. 274, Rhea Lodge No. 47, M.M. Martin Lodge No. 547, Whiteside Lodge No. 13, and Zollicoffer Lodge No. 444. Among the attendees were two 50-year members, Brothers Jim Pepper and Dennis Cornwell, whose presence underscored the enduring legacy of our craft. King Lodge was proud to have one of its own Entered Apprentice candidates present.

The degree was conferred with precision and care by WM Dave Smith, who exemplified the commitment to ritual excellence that is the hallmark of our lodge. Following the ceremony, brethren enjoyed a wonderful meal and the warm fellowship that makes Masonry so unique.

The Entered Apprentice degree holds a profound significance within Freemasonry. It represents the first step on a Mason’s journey, introducing the candidate to the moral principles and foundational teachings of the craft. This degree not only imparts knowledge but also sets a standard for self-improvement, challenging the candidate to reflect on their character and strive toward becoming a better man.

Freemasonry’s roots stretch back centuries, and its teachings have guided countless men toward lives of integrity, service, and brotherhood. At King Lodge No. 461, we are honored to have been a part of this legacy for over a century and a half. Every candidate who walks through our doors follows in the footsteps of the many who have come before, contributing to a continuum of personal growth and community service.

For over 150 years, King Lodge has been a beacon of light in Bristol, TN, shaping good men into better ones. It is an incredible honor for today’s candidates to tread the same path as generations of Masons who have made a difference in our lodge and our community. The Entered Apprentice degree serves as a gateway to this transformative journey, instilling values that resonate throughout a Mason’s life.
