BLUE LODGE  ·  MEETS AT KING MASONIC TEMPLE

King Lodge No. 461

Free & Accepted Masons

Every Mason's journey begins in a Blue Lodge. King Lodge No. 461 has been Bristol's Blue Lodge since it was chartered under the Grand Lodge of Tennessee in 1874.

What is a Blue Lodge?

The Blue Lodge is the foundation of all of Freemasonry. It is where a man is made a Mason through three degrees: Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and Master Mason. Each degree teaches lessons about character, duty and brotherhood through symbols and ceremony that have been passed down for centuries.

Our stated meeting is held on the second Monday of each month, with a meal together before the meeting. Through the year we also hold degree nights, community meals and service projects, and our members take part in the work of the other Masonic bodies that meet in our building.

Once you are a Master Mason, you are a full member of the fraternity. Some Brothers then choose to continue their Masonic education in bodies such as the York Rite, which also meet here.

The three degrees

  1. Entered Apprentice
  2. Fellowcraft
  3. Master Mason
